From first contact to arrange a home visit to delivery of our possessions, Cadogan Tate were professional, punctual and considerate. Paul and Theresa were especially helpful in organising a complex move, whilst Przemek and his team excelled in packing with great care and attention. They went the extra mile in delivering and positioning our possessions in our new home, taking much of the stress out of moving house. We have moved many times over 30 years and Cadogan Tate were without doubt the best firm we have used.

We used Cadogan Tate for a move from London back to the US (The US is not an option above).  The movers were very professional and friendly.  However the back office has serious issues. We had very bad response times (weeks-months depending on the request) to requests we made to the back office for payment info and then again after  making claims for some minor damage to our goods.  After almost 3 months post-move and several complaints via phone and email we got the insurance claim covered.  Immediately following that we were contacted by the Managing Director (Jonathan Hood) via email apologizing for their poor service and offered a refund of US$5000 as compensation and asked that we remove any reviews we had online.  Needless to say we agreed and complied.  After cashing the cheque, we received a very threatening email from Jonathan claiming we lied and did not remove our review and made reference to a site (reviewcentre.co.uk) we did not use.  We made clear that was not our review, but we recieved a letter from a law firm threatening legal action if we did not return the funds.  We returned the refund but it is clear that Codagan Tate is simply trying to buy off bad reviews and don't care about poor service.

Please see attached my review of Cadogan Tate. I was appalled at their service which resulted in our belongings being destroyed in a crusher at their warehouse. We are still discovering other things we are missing. They had no idea about what exactly was destroyed, and were dishonest when informing us of the level of damage to our possessions. To add insult to injury, on returning our belongings from storage their sexist remarks and highly unprofessional attitude left me desperate for them to leave.

We found Cadogan Tate 's team friendly, knowlegeable, professional and efficient - right from when the manager came to make a quotation for the move in London until the time our shipment was finally delivered to us in Hong Kong.
They were helpful and friendly whenever we phoned with a query or for specific advice. The packing and removal team in London were very punctual and professional. There was good coordination with the office who also kept us informed about the shipment. Their choice of the local agent in Hong Kong ensured that custom clearance, moving into and out of storage was handled very smoothly. The delivery team in Hong Kong was also punctual, careful and efficient with all our things. Based on our own experience, we would highly recommend their service.

We use Cadogan thinking it is a good reputable company. We were promised secure and safe storage for our home belonging.  -

The packers Mick and his group are a bunch of thieves. They stole our goods while packing. We complaint to Alan Carpenter who assured us that nothing would go missing. Unfortunately we trusted him. When we retrieve our belongings there are many items missing. When complain Alan said you claim insurance, it is an added hassle as our items are expensive and it is taking time to resolve.

The company is an illusion of grandeur while in fact it offers extremely poor services and extremely poor customer attitude, just pay us all and go. We are disheartened by Cadogan Tate deception, thievery and unprofessionalism. We will never recommend it to anyone stay away!

We used Cadogan Tate for a move from UK to Sweden. The service on the UK end was fine. However, the delivery of our goods in Sweden was exceptionally poor. The expectation when using Cadogan Tate given their price and reputation would be that they oversee the entire move. However, in our instance our goods were delivered by a separate firm that Cadogan contracted with and where there appeared to be no communication between this agency firm and Cadogan. The driver who was supposed to deliver our goods called on the day of delivery to state that he could not drive into the centre of Stockholm, which given that we were moving into an apartment in the centre of Stockholm was not a good start. We contacted Cadogan who rather than try and resolve the situation quoted fine print (us not providing good access) and telling us to rent a van ourselves and drive and pick up the goods from somewhere outside the city. The only option for us at this time was to ask the driver to leave all our goods in temporary storage until we could resolve the situation. After 3 days having not received any form of communication from Cadogan we had to book an independent mover ourselves to bring the goods to our apartment. This also mean that the service we paid for (unpacking and removal of packing materials) was not delivered by Cadogan. After two weeks of chasing Cadogan for a response they finally reverted to apologise but argued it was our decision to leave the goods in storage and therefore refused to provide compensation. I would strongly recommend that you do not use this company, terrible terrible service and lack of responsibility.

After reading the reviews AFTER we have moved, we should have known better when moving our stuff from London to Hove.. Like the lady who discovered her paintings were just wrapped in paper, we had the same issues. Our valuable oil paintings being wrapped in paper and stuffed into cramped boxes. On each box their slogan is 'handle with care' but the reality is totally different! The movers were supposed to put together the items they had taken apart. This resulted in an antique wardrobe being put together in a hurry and the doors could not properly open. An Ikea bed not securely tight together with the side supports dumped in a corner of an inner storage cupboard!
Complaining to Simon Waymouth is a waste of your time, he just passes the bucket to a different department. He has never valued customer service I suppose.
We have put lots of our stuff into storage (2 containers) and they have mistakenly put 5 of our pictures, who I set aside to be transported to our next house, into storage. I am in the process of getting them delivered to our house and am wondering how long that will take.
The company we used for our move from the Netherlands to London was van Dam (a Dutch company). They wrapped all our paintings in bubble wrap and each oil painting in a separate box. This is what I would call 'handle with care'. Cadogan should be able to do better. When getting the quote it was all very professionally handled but the actual move and after care extremely disappointing. They should get their act together or change their slogan!

Very clear and helpful service from the quote estimate to the final delivery. Helpful advice during the quote process and although the highest price, not a lot of difference to other quotes. Extremely professional packing and all done on time. Arrival of goods within the time window proposed and unpacked with care and no breakages (in spite of a lot of crystal and china!) and all rubbish taken away. Overall, a good and helpful service and definitely worth the money.

I used Cadogan Tate for a big, cross-Atlantic move with furniture storage. They:
• came to my house and gave me a quote.. it turned out to be wrong and I was charged almost £2000 more
• held my things in storage for 10 months and overcharged the original quote by £100/month
• double billed me on multiple occasions
• have team change-overs constantly. I have lost track of the high number of people who have been my contact over the months
• told me I would need 10 hours (and would need to pay for waiting time) for my move in, but the team did it in 3
• broke one of my dining room chairs and actively discouraged me for filing a claim on the full value insurance I'd purchased
• always need to be prompted to return a phone call or email. I have had to request nearly everything (except the initial sale) twice or three times to get things done

The guys who actually packed & moved things in & out of my house/s were great.. but none of them are actually Cadogan Tate employees.

Moving a home after 45 years to three different delivery addresses is potentially problematic. The solution was to have only two packers working for 5 days so that I could supervise the packing and clarify what was going where. The house was filled to the brim with furniture and a lifetime of belongings. Draws were packed with paperwork and long forgotten items. The challenge was enormous, but the Cadogan Tate team met the challenge and delivered to the three addresses the right boxes, well done. The two packers were helpful, polite, courteous and always willing. Highly recommended.

My husband and I used Cadogan Tate to move from London,UK to Los Angeles, USA this summer. We went through a few companies and did our research. They gave us the highest quote and timeline for the move but we decided to go with them because of the good reviews we found online. For anybody who has moved countries would know how over whelming it is-between rules, do's & don'ts, laws and logistics. You expect the support and guidance from the professionals you hire. Initially all felt good, based on the information we got/understood we indicated all our expensive goods and paid all the insurance (quite high!!) to protect our valuables. On delivery the last thing I thought of happened. After about 4 months when we got our boxes (90 odd) at least 5-6 were crushed boxes completely - 2 of which had antique stools broken, all my paintings were just wrapped in a few layers of paper and luckily just 1 broke, 2 of my crystal wine glasses from a set of 6 were packed between/inside a box of books. When I got in touch with Simon Waymouth in the risk department, he sent a form to be filled out which I did to the best of my knowledge and I got a rude response from him about it being incomplete. Didn't want to get into an argument about his response so I told my husband to liaise with him instead. We were then informed none of our items were covered because we had not listed them. We were never informed to list every single item being sent. Imagine 90 odd cartons worth!! Even if we didn't these were items broken due to poor packing quality by such a big apparently reputable company and to top it off one of the most expensive companies in the UK market. Save your money and your valuables and NEVER use this company!!

We moved out of our old house using a local company called Scotts, who held our possessions in storage while our new home was redeveloped. In the meantime Scotts were acquired by Cadogan Tate, so we were compelled to use them when it came to redelivering our things. The decline in service in the 14 months between the two moves was striking. They used the fact that they had possession of our things (making us a captive client) to claim an unnecessarily high price, the removers themselves were surly and resentful when asked to do more than what was convenient for them (in stark comparison with the old Scotts team) and worst of all was the fact that an item was broken and they refused to replace it, saying we'd claimed too late - ie unless you unwrap everything immediately then your insurance (which is expensive and they make you buy) is worth nothing. Avoid.

We used Cadogan Tate when we moved apartments across London a decade ago, and again when we sold up in London and moved to the south coast of England. The move took place across 2 days. Everything went to plan. There were some very heavy, valuable and difficult pieces to move and this was done with great skill and care. The team were all very polite and courteous and got the job done quickly and efficiently. Expensive but worth it. We wouldn't hesitate to use Cadogan Tate again.

Very pleased with the service of Cadogan Tate from the quotation to delivery by their service partner in Canada. The packing and moving of furniture and large works of art under very difficult building access conditions in central London was handled professionally and cheerfully by the Cadogan Tate team. I was proactively kept informed as my possessions were placed in storage then shipped at my request from London to western Canada in 6 weeks. Some extra charges as my service needs unfolded (length of storage; access at the delivery location) but nothing that was a surprise or excessive.

I recommend Cadogan Tate 100%. This company has been superb from the very beginning. We had quite a large move to organise at short notice. Cadogan Tate were supportive, always replied immediately, gave excellent advice, and were sensitive to our often changing dates. Derek's initial survey was spot-on.
The move itself was like magic, unbelievably a stress-free experience. The same team led by Pshamek packed and moved us, soo careful, hard working at speed, courteous, respectful, totally professional. Our glass, art and all the rest arrived safely, the unloading was done with consideration for us after the move. Theresa coordinated it all perfectly. This company knows its business inside out. The service Cadogan Tate gave us was the best we have had in all our many moves. And the cost was still competitive! Thank you indeed.

From initial estimate, through to packing and the actual move, they were knowledgeable, polite, efficient and helpful. We had a lot of IT equipment to move, which was packed and transported with exquisite care. Despite snowy/icy conditions and an early start, the move crew battled through to deliver everything on time, and in perfect condition.

I contacted Cadogan Tate to ship a small container of 20 boxes from my house in the South of France to my house in the South of England. From my very first phone conversation to them right to the delivery of my shipment in England, the service has been outstanding. Both teams in France and England have been extremely professional, helpful, friendly, punctual and competent. It was a totally hassle-free move. Communication was maintained throughout by email or phone and I did not have to worry about anything. They delivered all my cardboard boxes in England quickly and safely and I was very pleased with their service and would recommend them to my British and French clients.

Recently I ordered shipment via Cadogan tate for my move from South of France to London. It was handled so perfectly. The quote was slightly higher than the cheapest quote I received. But I chose this agency because of too many horror stories I read about other shipment companies. The pick up and delivery of the goods are handled so efficiently. And the customer service staff are so helpful and will provide accurate information about times of pick up and delivery. There were no hidden costs charged. I am really happy that I have chosen this agency for my personal shipment.

My move occurred in March of 2020, just days before the Corona virus lockdown and my effects went to storage for five months. The shipping manager kept me informed of potential shipping dates. Once my goods were in the States, again communication was excellent. I have been impressed with the service I received from the beginning, with a fair and reasonable quote, to the day of delivery. Under unusual circumstances, Cadogan Tate performed above my expectations. Everything arrived in perfect condition. Personnel at all levels were pleasant, professional and efficient and the arrangements in the US were equally pleasant, professional and efficient.

I have moved many times in London and never taken the plunge on a proper moving company, with a larger move this time and a number of positive recommendations, we called Cadogan Tate. From the start the level of organisation was exceptional, parking restrictions organised, materials pre-ordered and a clear plan for the day sent ahead, it destressed the whole move. When Peter and his team arrived they quickly packed the whole house and were ready to move 1 hour earlier than expected, at the other end, they unpacked diligently and came back a couple of days later to pick up our boxes. The intra-London move was so well done that by the evening we were largely unpacked and eating in our new home, avoiding the need for pizza on the floor surrounded by boxes. Could not have gone better and good value taking into account the cost of materials and time should we have done this ourselves.
